At Websites and Coffee the focus is on what’s important to you today, and I work with you as you’re engaged in doing and learning. Being a computer geek AND a people-person (yes, ’tis true!), I  treasure the connections I make with you and the other workshop attendees — as well as the ones you make among yourselves. I hope you’ll leave each workshop uplifted — and on track — and looking forward to your next steps, either working on your own, working with another website developer/trainer, or working with me. I look forward to us talking further during any part of your WordPress adventure!

Although my subject is always related to your website, my focus is on you. I want you to be empowered to manage your website and understand how it aligns with your business, your identity, your dreams, and your passion.

  • CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: Workshop fees for “no show” or cancellation of attendance less than 24 hours in advance are non-refundable.

Explore WordPress (self-hosted) both in conversation and in action. We’ll help each other uncover ways WordPress can put us in control of the online image we project to the world.

We’ll cover terminology and address your questions about search engine optimization, pages and posts, widgets and plugins, and themes — and then jump online to show you the back end in our online WordPress lab. “Intro to WordPress: Part Two (Going Deeper)”

After answering your questions from “Intro to WordPress: First Steps,” in “Intro to WordPress: Part Two (Going Deeper)” you’ll spend most of your time in our online WordPress (self-hosted) lab or your WordPress website, completing targeted exercises opening a closer look at key WordPress functionality.

Specific exercises empower you to use your WordPress admin panel, plugins, widgets, categories, and expanded SEO. You’ll feel more comfortable as you explore and utilize WordPress tools as you bring yourself to life online. Learn more…

 

“Intro to WordPress: What’s Next?”

You’ve decided to develop and control your own website. Now what? I’ll guide you through considering each step in the process — exploring what’s involved with each step and helping you decide what resources you need to complete each one.

It’s easy to get lost in the jungle of steps, especially if you’ve never been in the jungle! There are many ways to reach your destination and you’ll probably need help. I just want to provide the information you need to understand some of the decisions you’ll be making along the way. You don’t have to follow the map you’ll develop in this session, but you’ll know at least one way to get there! Learn more…
